Summer is winding down, but the drought continues. The temperatures are only getting up to the mid 80s or low 90s during the day and dropping to the 60s at night. However, there is a burn ban due to the lack of rain. Even so, there is a daily watch in hopes that a fire does not start in our area and if one does trying to prevent it from getting to us.
We were lucky enough to find local hay, but because of the drought we had to purchase more than normal and are already feeding it. Another bit of bad news is that one of our long time ‘barn friends’ had to be put down after one of his heart valve collapsed.
Stay tuned for future updates!
